You need to file in both.

Missouri has the privilege of taxing the income you receive during their activities in Missouri ... File must be a nonresident.

After his return to Illinois, is a credit for taxes paid in another state. You must declare all their income to all tax credits as a reduction of the Missouri will receive [DIRECT] taxes in Illinois (or not enough depending on the relative speed, etc..)

Both countries want to do a copy of Form 1040 federal government first.

You must file a tax in every state, who has lived, send / return to work, in addition to your state.
